Jess Black is an award winning author of over forty seven children's books. 

Jess has written The Colourful World of Poppy Starr Olsen, Time Out! (Who Dunnit Eddie Woo?), the Mackenzie Arnold series, Pepper Creek Ponies series, the Tales of Mr Walker series, The Keeper of the Crystals Series, and the Little Paws series.

Jess is the co-author of The Kaboom Kid series, The Bindi Irwin Wildlife Adventure series, and the Animal Tales series.

Jess has written four picture books - The Sea in Me, The Bold Australian Girl, Moon Dance and Logan’s Big Move.

Jess lives in Newcastle with her husband, two daughters, a  rescue dog and a tyrannical cat.

Jess’s stories explore themes such as – animal welfare, conserving our natural environment, loyalty, resilience, kindness and friendship. She enjoys using humour and action in her stories.
